3 appellations will be highlighted for journalists, among which Mercurey. This village located in the heart of Côte Chalonnaise will organize the next Saint Vincent on 28th and 29th January 2017.
The village of Mercurey
is one the foremost appellations of Bourgogne. The vineyards stretch as far as the neighbouring village of Saint-Martin-sous-Montaigu. This appellation produces both red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay. The AOC status was instituted in 1923 and includes 32 premiers crus climats.
Meursault : This appellation village of the Côte de Beaune region (Côte-d’Or), includes 19 Premiers Crus Climats. The excellent soils were planted with vines by the monks of Cîteaux as early as 1098. A small amount of red wine is produced here, though white definitely dominates. Meursault’s appellation of origin status dates from 1937.
Vosne Romanée : “Bourgogne has produced nothing better than this little corner where all her charms come together”. So wrote Gaston Roupnel Burgundian author, celebrated historian of the French countryside. This appellation village of Côte de Nuits (Côte d'Or) includes 14 Premiers Crus Climats and 6 Grands Crus.
Close to this paradise, the appellation Village Vosne-Romanée and its Premiers Crus express the Pinot Noir grape at its heavenly best.
